In a recent press conference ahead of their upcoming match, LSG Mentor Zaheer Khan confirmed that Shardul Thakur will lead the pace attack for Lucknow Super Giants in the absence of Avesh Khan, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan.
Shardul Thakur is officially joining the Lucknow Super Giants and replacing Mohsin Khan, who is sidelined with an ACL injury. Despite being unsold at the auction, Thakur has been practicing with the LSG team and will now serve as their official bowler. Official announcements regarding this signing are expected soon.

This season, LSG has assembled a complete Indian pace attack, initially retaining Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan, and later signing Akash Deep and Avesh Khan at the auction. However, as it stands, none of these players have reported to the team yet. Mohsin Khan is out for the season, while Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav are at the Center of Excellence and are expected to join the team shortly. There has been no update on Akash Deep as of now.
Zaheer Khan, who participated in the auction alongside the management, opted for a pace-heavy lineup. Given the current circumstances, LSG will rely on the experienced Shardul Thakur to spearhead the pace attack, as stated by Zaheer Khan.
When asked about the ongoing challenges in their pace bowling department, Zaheer emphasized the importance of a dynamic approach, placing his trust in young players like Rajavardhan Hangargekar, Prince Yadav, and Shamar Joseph, all of whom will be working with Thakur in the lineup.
"The situation is dynamic for some of our players due to injuries. It's time to look for positives and adapt to tackle the situation amicably. Some players are at the National Cricket Academy, while others are with their physiotherapists. At this moment, it wouldn't be right to comment further. The situation will remain dynamic this season," Zaheer stated during the media interaction.
