Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were absolutely clinical with the ball in their hands as they beat arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a huge margin at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk. This was RCB's only second victory in Chennai after their victory in 2008. The win was set up by RCB skipper Rajat Patidar's terrific 32-ball (51) runs. Later, their bowlers, led by Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, & Yash Dayal were on money from ball one and strangulated CSK batters.
It all started with Hazlewood bowling an immaculate line and length as he dismissed Rahul Tripathi (5), and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (0) for low scores. Both dismissals were a massive setback for CSK as they could not recover from that jolt. Even RCB's part-time spinner Livingstone also did not concede above eight runs per over, and that sums up CSK's sorry batting display at home. The team always prides itself on doing well at home, but against RCB they failed to live up to those lofty expectations.

Opener Rachin Ravindra top scored with a sedate (41) runs. The southpaw struggled for a large part of his innings and failed to keep up with the asking rate.
RCB start IPL 2025 with a bang, win two games on the bounce
RCB have started the IPL 2025 with a bang by winning two games. Both wins have come in commanding fashion, and that too on the road. RCB, whose bowling attack has always come under scanner, have this time won two games on account of their bowlers performing exceedingly well. If in the first game Krunal Pandya stood up with three wickets, in the second game, Hazlewood and Yash Dayal stood up with by sharing five wickets each.
