Up until the three overs of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, RCB was playing only in one gear and notched up 50 runs in just 18 balls. Salt took on Mitchell Starc for a 30-run over in the second over and made his intentions clear. Salt's assault brought the RCB crowds at the Chinnaswamy to its feat. However, little did they know what was in store in the next three overs in power play.
Just when it looked like the Englishman would explode, he was run out in the fourth over. Kohli called for a quick single but then denied the run. Salt (37) was halfway through, and in return, he slipped, and he was out. His wicket brought DC into the game, and in the next three overs, they capitalized and put the squeeze on RCB batters.

RCB number three batter Devdutt Padikkal just could not get going and was dismissed for an eight-ball one run. After the power play, Kohli (22) was also dismissed to DC leg spinner Vipraj Nigam. However, the solid start by RCB openers Salt and Kohli ensured that RCB is in a good position heading into the next 10 overs.

No total is safe at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It is a batting paradise and a graveyard for bowlers. With RCB getting above 90 runs in 10 overs, they would be keen to eye the 200-plus mark by the end of 20 overs. The key for RCB will be skipper Rajat Patidar as he is a superb player of spin and also the form batter. After the 10 overs, RCB are 91 for the loss of four wickets.
