Delhi Capitals (DC) came superbly after the initial assault by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opening batters Phil Salt (37) and Virat Kohli (22) runs by restricting RCB to below 170 runs. At one stage, it looked like the home side would get over 200 in the ongoing match 24 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. However, Kuldeep Yadav bowled terrifically well in the middle phase of the innings and enabled DC to finish on a good note.
Kuldeep picked up the wickets of Jitesh Sharma (3), Rajat Patidar (25) runs, and enabled RCB's solid start of 64 runs in the power play was a distant memory. Alongside Kuldeep, Vipraj Nigam (2/18) was also impressive as he chipped in with two wickets. However, the turning point of the 11-20 over phase was the bowling of Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma.

RCB fail to finish strongly as DC spinners make a mark
At the halfway mark, DC bowling coach Munaf Patel told to broadcasters that the surface for RCB vs DC clash is 170 surface. However, with the start that the home team got they would have ideally eyed 200 plus target. DC spinners though had other intentions, and they restricted RCB to below 170. The total would have been much lower if not for Tim David's blistering cameo of 20-ball 37 runs in the death overs.
