Suryakumar Yadav MI vs RCB

Mumbai Indians (MI) got off to an inauspicious start in pursuit of a 222-run target set by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the ongoing match 20 of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). MI lost both openers inside the power play as Rohit Sharma (17 runs) and Ryan Rickelton (17 runs) failed to get going after getting to starts. RCB's new bowlers, Yash Dayal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, managed to bowl well in the power play as MI could only score 54 runs.

However, the moment in the first 10 overs came when RCB took a brilliant review of the bowling off Josh Hazlewood. At one moment, RCB looked uninterested in the review before wicketkeeper batter Jitesh Sharma convinced skipper Rajat Patidar to take the review. It turned out to be a successful one, as the in-form Rickelton was sent back to the pavilion. Those twin strikes jolted MI, as they could not break free in the power play.

As expected, Hazlewood was immaculate with this line and length and reaped rewards. For MI, the key in this huge run chase will be Suryakumar Yadav. He is the in-form batter for MI, and if MI has to take the game deep, then Surya has to play a blinder.

RCB look to break Wankhede jinx, MI keen to maintain record

For the unversed, RCB last won at the Wankhede Stadium way back in 2015. AB de Villers's and Virat Kohli's twin tons were instrumental in that epic victory. 10 years later, RCB has posted a huge score and will be keen to break the Wankhede jinx. Since that 2015 triumph, MI have beaten RCB six times at the Wankhede Stadium. At the halfway mark of the run chase, MI is placed at 84 for the loss of three wickets.
