RCB have come out all guns blazing looking to chase down 175 needed to win the IPL 2025 opener. They had a good end to their bowling innings as they restricted the Knight Riders to 174/8 in their 20 overs. This was after RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Phil Salt and Virat Kohli came out with an attacking intent looking to chase down 175 to win. The pair raced to 80 inside the powerplay with the field restrictions on. Phil Salt (56 off 31) was brutal as he launched an all-out attack. He hit nine fours and two sixes in his innings almost killing the chase in the powerplay. The England keeper-batter scored at a strike rate of 180.

Kohli-Salt Add 95 Runs For First Wicket
Finally in the ninth over of the RCB chase, Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Salt and brought some parity back in the game. They bowled some tght overs after the batting powerplay which led to that wicket.
Earlier in the game, KKR were restricted to 174/8 by the RCB. The Knight Riders scored over 100 runs in the first 10 overs. In the back 10, they scored just 67 runs and lost 8 wickets. The loss of wickets took all the momentum out of the KKR innings. Josh Hazlewood took two wickets and Krunal Pandya took three as they played a big part with the ball in the back 10 overs. Heading into the back 10 overs, RCB still need over 50 runs to win the match.
