The IPL 2025 kicked off with KKR and RCB facing off each other. Before the match, there was a glittering opening ceremony that pumped up the atmosphere for the fans.
RCB won the toss and opted to bowl first. KKR opened with Sunil Narine and Quinton de Kock who was one of the players KKR invested in the mega auction. De Kock hit a boundary to start the proceedings for the Knight Riders.
However, his innings was a short-lived one as he was dismissed in the very first over. Sunil Narine then played a few swings and misses as KKR reached just nine inside the first three overs. Meanwhile, as the game started, there was no sign of any rain prior to that as was the prediction.

Rahane-Narine Makes RCB Pay
The fourth over for KKR produced 16 runs and KKR got a move on from that over. Ajinkya Rahane hit a couple of sixes to start his innings. In the very next over, Sunil Narine also found his touch after staying silent for the first three overs.
The floodgates opened for KKR from the fourth over and since then they have been scoring at a hefty run-rate. Rahane was the aggressor at the start and Narine followed suit. The batters scoring quickly made the bowlers go on the defensive from the fourth over itself. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was also not included in the lineup which was a big drawback for the side.
Rahane scored a fifty in his very first knock as KKR captain and was well supported by Sunil Narine who was happy to play the second fiddle. The Indian cricketer who has achieved a lot of success in domestic cricket in the last 12 months got the best of starts for his new franchise. His knock has propelled KKR to 100 in the first 10 overs. Sunil Narine also smacked a few lusty blows in the final few overs before he was dismissed for 44 off 26 deliveries. His dismissal ended a stand of 103 runs with his KKR as Knight Riders reached 107/2 after 10 overs.
