IND vs ENG 3rd ODI Match PreviewÂ
Both teams have a few things to tick in the final ODI. For India, the concern is about Virat Kohli's form. The former Indian skipper will look to get some runs under his belt as the team management look to finalise the playing XI. He is 89 runs short of getting to 14000 ODI runs. KL Rahul's batting position will be a concern after his poor outings in the first two games. The management might think about bringing in Rishabh Pant for the final game. Also, there will be a temptation to play Kuldeep against the England right-handers.
For England, they have a few injury concerns. Jacob Bethell has been ruled out of the third ODI and the Champions Trophy as he picked up a hamstring injury. Tom Banton has been added as his cover. Phil Salt and Ben Duckett has done good individually in the first two games. However, England are yet to fire together as a batting group.
Bowling wise, they have looked a better unit. Jofra Archer was rested in the previous game as Gus Atkinson replaced him. It will be interesting to see if he plays this dead rubber ahead of the Champions Trophy. England have stuck with their approach of playing with just one specialist spinner, something which has been difficult to understand in helpful conditions. Adil Rashid will have a job to do in the final ODI as well.
