Australian Cricketers' Association boss Paul Marsh who is back at the helm for the second time has given warning signs to the scheduling of international cricket due to domestic T20 tournaments.
Marsh is willing to put forward a scenario where the ICC decides to give a dedicated window for international cricket to counter the threat of domestic T20 cricket leagues.
We have seen in the past where cricketers have chosen to play in T20 domestic leagues rather than playing for their international teams. That started the club vs country debate all together.

Players from West Indies and South Africa have often chosen playing in franchise T20 cricket leagues rather than playing international cricket for their respective countries. Over time, many of them have been the most sought-after cricketers across different T20 leagues.
Last year, South Africa sent a second-string international side for a series against the Kiwis as all the first-choice players were busy playing in the SA20 league.
Paul Marsh who quit the AFL Players Association to return as the boss of the ACA the second time said that if the schedule for international cricket is not sorted then the future of international cricket is in trouble. He spoke about sorting out a way where both international cricket and domestic T20 tournaments can go side by side.
"If we don't get the scheduling sorted out in international cricket so we actually work out how international cricket will co-exist with the domestic Twenty20 competitions, then international cricket's in trouble," Marsh said after joining as the ACA boss for the second time.
"So we are trying to get to windows. We are trying to get to a more structured format around how international cricket works. That's one of the big priorities coming in, is to work with all the other countries to try to find the right solutions" he further added.
Cricket Scheduling Problem Is Not An Easy One - Paul Marsh
According to the (FTP) Future Tours Program, Australia have a busy schedule in 2027 with a tour to India, an away Ashes series in England followed by an ODI World Cup. He said that scheduling for Australian cricket team is not an easy task. He also spoke about how Cricket Australia along with the other boards need to chalk out a plan to make this happen.
"The cricket scheduling problem is not an easy one. It's not like in AFL, where it's pretty easy to put together and we've got complete control of it. Cricket Australia may want to have a schedule that's a certain way, but you've then got to get the countries to come. So I'll deal with that when I get started" Marsh admitted.
Talking about Australia's immediate international assignments, they will play the WTC final against South Africa in June. Then they take on England in an Ashes series at home starting from November 21 with the first Test in Perth. Before the Ashes in November, Australia takes on India in a three-match ODI series followed by a five-match T20I series between October 19-November 8.
