Babar Azam once again became the soft target and was easily trolled after Pakistan's exit from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan, who were the hosts of the tournament, were the first team to be knocked out after losses to New Zealand and India.
Babar Azam scored 64 off 90 balls while chasing 321 against the Kiwis. Against India, he scored just 23 off 26 deliveries in another disappointing batting display against the Men in Blue.
The former Pakistan captain was heavily criticised and his slow scoring rate was considered one of the reasons why the team ended up losing both those games. Pakistan's final game against Bangladesh was abandoned due to rain.

Babar Azam's Father Takes A Dig At Former Cricketers
Now Babar Azam's father has blasted all his critics asking them on what authority are they questioning his son's performance. Meanwhile, Babar's last performance of note was the ICC ODI World Cup in 2023 where he scored 320 runs in nine innings. He also led Pakistan in the tournament which was played in India.
"If someone responds, they may not be able to tolerate it. You are part of the past and will never play again. "What was their performance during their playing days? Take a look at the PCB website—it's a clear hint for the wise," Babar's father Azam Siddiqui said to Cricket Pakistan.
Babar's father further spoke about his son being axed from the T20I side that was named for the series against New Zealand. The batter has recently struggled to score runs in white-ball cricket and his strike rate in T20I cricket has been a major concern.
"People say that a father speaks too much, but I am Babar's first and last coach. I am his spokesperson and mentor, and his most sincere well-wisher—his father."
Babar will next be seen in action against New Zealand in the ODI series, which begins on March 29. The squad for the series was recently named by PCB.
