The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 kickstarts from February 19 with hosts Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the campaign opener in Karachi. The matches will be played across three venues, namely, Karachi Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The Indian team will play all their matches in Dubai. The Men in Blue were the runners-up in the 2017 edition of the tournament. They lost the final against Pakistan at Lord's eight years ago.
Heading into this tournament, India are among the favourites to lift the title. Having won the title in 2003 and 2013, Rohit Sharma are his men are gunning for their third Champions Trophy title.

India-Pakistan On February 23
India kick off their Champions Trophy campaign against Bangladesh on February 20. They then play against Pakistan on Sunday (March 23) and then against the Kiwis next Sunday (March 3). India if they make the final will play the summit clash in Dubai as well.
Unlike previous editions, where the top eight ODI teams automatically qualified, the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy selection was based on the 2023 Cricket World Cup standings.
This allowed Afghanistan to qualify for their maiden Champions Trophy campaign. In the ODI World Cup, they defeated teams like England, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Thus they made history by qualifying for the tournament.

The Champions Trophy format has remained the same since 2006. With teams are divided into two groups of four each. Every team will face each other once in the tournament with the top two teams from both groups making it to the semi-final. Thereafter the top two teams will play the final.

Champions Trophy 2025 Prize Money Details
There has been a significant rise in the prize money from the 2017 Champions Trophy to this one. The total prize pool for the tournament has seen a major increase, now totaling $6.9 million (Rs 60 crores), up 53% from the 2017 edition. The champion team will earn $2.24 million (Rs 19.5 crore), while the runner-up receives $1.12 million (Rs 9.7 crores). Each of the four semi-finalists will take home $560,000 (Rs 4.9 crores).
The prize money for the 2017 edition was $4.5 million (Rs 39 crores), with the winner receiving $2.2 million (Rs 19 crores) and the runner-up $1.1 million (Rs 8.5 crores).
