Gautam Gambhir the Indian head coach, is reportedly unhappy with the prevalent indiscipline within the Indian team at the moment. Meanwhile, the BCCI has come out with a set of guidelines for all the players upon returning from the tour of Australia.
The BCCI listed out 10 mandatory guidelines to the players and asked them to follow with immediate effect. Among the rules listed are limited time for families on away tours and that the players now cannot bring their personal cook or hairdresser on away tours as well.
According to a new report by India Today, Gambhir was seemingly agitated by the indiscipline from the current lot of younger players within the team and thus wanted stricter guidelines in place.
"Gautam Gambhir, during the review meeting, spoke about indiscipline in the Indian dressing room following the loss in the Border-Gavaskar series. Indiscipline is the reason why the BCCI is reverting to pre-COVID rules, allowing two weeks of family presence on tour. Gautam and the players were on the same page regarding the topic of family stays," the report quoted a source as saying.

The report further claimed that one of the senior members of the Indian team who was also present in the meeting advised the chief selector to not distribute the match fee to the players immediately but after a proper review.
"One senior player, who was present at the meeting, suggested to the BCCI that the match fee should not be distributed immediately. Instead, players' performance should be considered before disbursing the fee, as some players are not prioritising domestic and national team commitments," the report claimed.
The report further claimed that there was only one team dinner that happened in the Australia tour. Players were often seen in different groups, something that the head coach did not like.

The rules that have been set for the players will also work for the coaching staff as well. Gautam Gambhir's manager has also been asked not to stay in the team hotel or VIP box any longer. Gambhir's personal aide has also had his privileges taken away by the board.
Meanwhile, Team India will return to the field with the white-ball series against England the squad for which has been already named.
