Michael Vaughan IND vs ENG

Michael Vaughan, the former England skipper has predicted the scoreline of the India-England T20I series. The series starts with the first T20I in Kolkata on Wednesday.

The last time both these sides met in the T20I format was in the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final. India beat England by 68 runs and avenged their loss by 10 wickets against the same side in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final.

The two sides have played 24 T20Is till date with India winning 13 games and England 11. In the last five encounters between the two sides in the format, India have won three games while England two. Michael Vaughan Backs England To Beat India In India

Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan has predicted the result of the series on his X handle. He has backed England to win the series 3-2. "England will win 3-2," Vaughan wrote in his tweet.

As said above, the series begins with the first T20I in Kolkata on Wednesday. Chennai hosts the second T20I on Saturday, January 25. Rajkot hosts the third on January 28. The series moves to the west then with Pune hosting the fourth T20I on January 31 followed by the fifth T20I in Mumbai on February 2.

The Eden track over the years has been very conducive to T20I cricket. Punjab Kings chased down a score of 261 in IPL 2024. The pitch stays true and the bounce is also even. Previously there was help for the spinners but in recent years this has been a batting-friendly wicket. Dew is also expected to play a huge part in making it tough for the bowlers.

The venues for the five-match series are batting-friendly ones and hence this is expected to be a high-scoring series. Both teams have seasoned T20I players in their respective squads. After the T20I series, both teams play a three-match ODI series ahead of the Champions Trophy starting next month.
