IND vs AUS Alex carey

Alex Carey yet again proved to be the crisis man for Australia as his knock of (60) runs took Australia to a challenging score of 264 against India in the ongoing Champions Trophy match. The southpaw came into bat when his side was placed at 144 for the loss of four wickets. Carey played sensibly with the lower-order batters and enabled Australia to have a strong score to defend on a sluggish Dubai pitch.

Opting to bat first, Australia got off to a decent start as they lost just two wickets in the powerplay. India's thorn in the flesh in recent times, Travis Head was dismissed for just (39) runs today. However, Australia's other big-match player, skipper Steve Smith stepped up and scored (73) runs. However, just when the right-hand batter was about to break the shackles, he was out as Mohammed Shmi picked up the big wicket. From there on, it was Carey's show all the way, as he was able to seamlessly find boundaries and kept the scoreboard ticking.

Australia post a challenging score, onus on Indian batters to play spin well in the second innings

With Australia posting a challenging score, the onus is on India's batters to play spin well on a sluggish Dubai surface. Australia have picked three spinners - Adam Zampa, Tanveer Sangha, and spin all-rounder Cooper Connolloy. The battle between Zampa vs Kohli will determine which way the game is going.
