Team India's victorious campaign in the Champions Trophy 2025 culminated not only in lifting the prestigious trophy but also in a substantial financial windfall. Their triumph over New Zealand in the final at the packed Dubai stadium ensured a handsome payout for both the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the players themselves.Â
The total prize money awarded to the Indian contingent amounted to a significant $2.24 million, translating to approximately INR 19.45 crore. While the number is huge in itself, it is still lower than the paycheque of many of the Indian players featuring in the Indian Premier League (IPL).Â
Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, who were a part of India’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025, were acquired by Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Kings (LSG) in the IPL 2025 auction for INR 26.75 crore and INR 27 crore respectively.
