Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar turned 35 on Wednesday, February 5. The veteran pacer last played international cricket for India in November 2022 and since then has been out of the side.
With the new team management under Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar testing out new pacers and most of them young, Bhuvi has fallen out of favour. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are the only two senior pacers around for India. In such a scenario, Bhuvneshwar Kumar's experience would have been a great boost for the Indian team.
With Bumrah ruled out of the Champions Trophy and Shami on his way to full fitness, Bhuvi would have been an ideal foil for the two pacers in the upcoming Champions Trophy. He bowls across all phases of every format and hence would have been a great addition to the side.

However, Bhuvi's biggest quality was to swing the ball across formats whenever he played. He got the ball to come in sharply off the deck as well after pitching. He has dismissed several batters with his deadly inswing very famously Aaron Finch in recent times.
